Licensing of retail and wholesale of medical products

Carrying out wholesale or retail of medical products in Ukraine presupposes for the business entity the presence of licensing document on different types of activities, namely – license (LU “On medical products”) №123/96-VR dated 04.04.1996)

Licensing of business entity is possible on conditions of adherence to Licensing conditions by business entity.
Current Licensing conditions (CMU resolution №929 dated 30.11.2016) are applied to the following types of activities in the sphere of circulation of medical products:

  • medical products manufacture;
  • medical products wholesale;
  • medical products retail, manufacturing of medical products under the conditions of pharmacy;
  • medical products import (except active pharmaceutical ingredients).

The licensee shall apply to licensing authority (State service on medical products and drug control) according to the requirements of the current Law of Ukraine “On licensing the types of economic activity” ( № 222-VIII dated 02.03.2015) and the data of Licensing conditions with correspondent application and document package in order to get the license on wholesale and retail of medical products.
For each of the mentioned above type of activity a business entity applies the established form for the chosen type of activity.
The places of realization of economic activity, that is licensed, are indicated in the application.
The presence of material and technical resources, qualified staff, compliance of which with the established requirements is the subject to mandatory inspection before issuing a license at the place of activity by the licensing authority or its territorial subdivisions are basis of issuing the license.

The license is unlimited under the condition of adherence to Licensing conditions by business entity.
